Researcher biography

Dr Moore is a Paediatric Oncologist at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital (LCCH) and Group Leader of the Childhood Leukaemia Research Laboratory at the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute, TRI. He is also Director of the Queensland Children's Tumour Bank housed in the Centre for Children's Health Research adjacent to the LCCH, one of only 3 biobanks in Australia dedicated to childhood cancer. Dr Moore's clinical and research interests are on acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), an aggressive form of leukaemia with a poor prognosis. His translational research laboratory focuses on understanding the causes of resistance to therapy and relapse, and aims to discover new therapeutic approaches for this devastating disease.
